Artist BIO 

Katelyn Alain is an award-winning young artist and an emerging talent in the contemporary art world. Alain’s figure paintings are held in public and private collections around the globe. Her work recently gained national attention when her paintings were featured prominently in the October 10 issue of the Wall Street Journal in an article about online art collecting entitled A Work in Progress: Buying Art on the Web by Kelly Crow. Earlier in the year she received an Artist Grant to attend the Vermont Studio Center for a summer residency, and was juried into the National Association of Women Artists in New York.

Katelyn Alain is a highly dedicated painter and graduated with her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May. In 2008 she was nominated for the Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant by the department faculty and has been the recipient of other awards and scholarships as a student including the Lois G. Roberts Scholarship for painting and the Kenneth Brown and Robert Kaentje Award for painting. Alain holds a BFA from Hartford Art School and spent one year studying at the Institute for American Universities in France where she was the recipient of the Constantin Christofides Art History Prize.

Alain shows her work at Stricoff Fine Art in New York City. She lives and works in Los Angeles.
